Tim Scott Fires Back at Obama’s Racial Criticism

Senator Tim Scott, in the running for the GOP presidential primary, jabbed back at former President Obama after he criticized Scott’s remarks about race and racial progress in the United States.

Scott took to Twitter to respond directly to Obama’s comments on a recent podcast.

“Let us not forget we are a land of opportunity, not a land of oppression,” he tweeted.

“Democrats deny our progress to protect their power. The Left wants you to believe faith in America is a fraud and progress in our nation is a myth.”

“The truth of MY life disproves the lies of the radical Left. We live in a country where little Black and Brown boys and girls can be President of the United States. The truth is – we’ve had one and the good news is – we will have another,” he concluded.

Scott has regularly argued that black Americans are underestimated by Democrats for political purposes. He is often criticized by left-leaning media figures for being black and Republican.

Obama Lashes Out Against Black Republicans

Scott was responding to comments Obama made on CNN’s “The Axe Files” podcast.

“There’s a long history of African-American or other minority candidates within the Republican Party who will validate America and say, ‘Everything’s great, and we can make it,’” Obama said, referring to Scott.

“And so if a Republican, who may even be sincere in saying, ‘I want us all to live together,’ doesn’t have a plan for how do we address crippling generational poverty that is a consequence of hundreds of years of racism in this society — and we need to do something about that — if that candidate is not willing to acknowledge that, again and again, we’ve seen discrimination in everything from … getting a job to buying a house to how the criminal justice system operates,” the former president explained.

“If somebody’s not proposing, both acknowledging and proposing, elements that say, ‘No, we can’t just ignore all that and pretend as if everything’s equal and fair. We actually have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.’ If they’re not doing that, then I think people are rightly skeptical,” he added.

  1. 💯 Bigoted and self-centered! It’s always about himself! He did next to nothing to advance “Black, Brown and other groups who elevated him to the Presidency.

Take a walk! You are not relevant.

  2. Absolutely the case with BO. What has he done since leaving the White House other than to enrich himself? We can still recall Michelle’s remarks about
loving America. What a contrast with the wonderful work on behalf of the
less fortunate set by Jimmy and Roslyn Carter. Senator Jim Scott would be
an excellent VP choice this time around.

  3. There needs to be a book written based on Obama, Michelle, Eric Holder, and many others. When Obama achieved fame and fortune by being elected the President of the United States, he hid his hatred for America and White Americans. His actions in office reflected his agenda to destroy our standing on the World Stage, as well as the racial harmony that was building with each succeeding generation of Americans. We should be able to unseal his records to unmask the real attack plan he has to take us down to implement his Globalist goal and turn back our effort under the Trump administration to Make America Great Again.

  4. “We have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk?!!! There’s someone who had every opportunity to “walk the walk” as President for EIGHT years, and what did he do for “his people”? Not a darn thing! I applaud Tim Scott for speaking out about everyone in this country has the opportunity to make as much of their life as they so choose. Tim is a shining example as well as thousands, if not millions, of this being a land of opportunity. And, I say good for him! Shame on you, BO, for not applauding him and others as well.

  5. Hey Ron. Jim Scott? It’s Tim Scott! And he would be the perfect choice for PRESIDENT. . . . . . . not merely VP. What are you thinking?

    • Agree. Really admire Sen. Scott, a really great American who, unlike Obama raised himself out of poverty. Still, he could have made his case more powerfully and put Obama, et. al., in their place with facts, among many others, that until 1965 when execrable Johnson and the Dimms imposed Great Society, the black middle class was growing faster than white.

  6. Obama is half-white, he was raised entirely by whites, he lived entirely outside the Continental US until college, and he never even met his black father until adolescence. So……exactly what does he know about the American Black Experience??

Let’s hope the Republican President of 2025 goes after these people the way the Biden Regime went after a past President, and gets them out of the political operations in DC forever. Otherwise, the Obamas have another 30 years to meddle.

  7. I know many black people who continued their education, went to college and who are now enjoying enormous success in the business place. So my take on that is that racial inequities have more to do with lack of education rather than racism. High School and College do indeed require hard work. but there is help available to anyone who wants to put in the effort.

Perhaps instead of quitting school to sell drugs or hang out in gangs, they can improve there futures by taking advantage of the many programs that assist in their education.

So I agree with Tim Scott and will support him in his endeavors. Obama is part of the reason ( a really big part) for black who feel that the system offers no future for them and who have given up and look to be taken care of.
