Democrats will do anything to win a House seat, and in Tennessee, they’re playing dirty. As usual, George Soros is allegedly backing a “dark money” group to go after Republican Mark Green’s former seat in Congress, hoping that propping up a spoiler in the race will send the a Democrat to Washington.
The Daily Caller writes that an “independent” candidate in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District is being funded by the “Democratic/Liberal” PAC, Your Community. Last month the PAC revealed a poll showing Republican Matt Van Epps leading Democratic state Rep. Aftyn Behn by eight points ahead of the Dec. 2 special election to replace Green.
A rare poll of the Dec. 2 TN-07 special!
Your Community PAC (D) released an Impact Research survey showing Republican Matt Van Epps ahead of Democrat Aftyn Behn, 52-44 percent.
TN-07 was Trump+22 in 2024.

The Daily Caller noted that roughly 85% of the PACs’ 2024 cycle spending went to support Democrats, while the remaining 15% was spent opposing Republicans, according to OpenSecrets records. Both funds are part of the Arabella Advisors network, which The Atlantic labeled the “mothership” of Democratic dark money, funneling hundreds of millions in anonymous donations into elections nationwide.
Your Community PAC appears to be taking an interference approach in the Volunteer State’s special election, running an ad Friday to promote Thorp and effectively sidelining the Democratic candidate to influence the race against Republican Matt Van Epps.
In 2024 alone, Your Community PAC spent $16.3 million, with 77% of its budget allocated to media, intervening in major contests from the presidential race to key Senate and House battles in Montana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, and Nebraska, according to OpenSecrets records.
Your Community PAC’s Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings list a compliance attorney as treasurer; the Wilmington, Delaware, address on record appears to be a private residence with no publicly identifiable owner. The PAC positions itself firmly as “Democratic/Liberal,” supporting several progressive causes, such as expanded abortion access, according to OpenSecrets records.
Soros and his groups have been a major backer of leftwing politicians. He recently backed socialist Zohan Mamdani’s bid for the takeover of New York City. He has been accused of paying protesters and violating federal election law by laundering money to candidates.
Green announced his plan to resign earlier in the year following the passage of “The Big Beautiful Bill.”
“To my constituents across Tennessee’s 7th District—thank you. The trust you put in me is humbling. I will look back fondly on my years of serving as your voice in Washington,” Green wrote in a post on Twitter.
At the time, his resignation narrowed the GOP majority to only 219-212. Green said that an opportunity in the private sector was too good to pass up.
“I went to Mike Johnson, and I said, ‘Hey, look, I’ve got this opportunity,’” Green said. “And he was so good about it. He was like, ‘Congratulations!’ May or may not have shared an interest himself, because this business is a tough business.”
