One of the national co-chairs of the Kamala Harris camapign is facing harsh criticism after posting a bizarre video in which she mocks Christian communion. While taping an interview with a leftwing podcaster, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer filmed a strange video in which she fed Doritos into the mouth of her interviewer, mocking the Catholic sacrament of Holy Communion.
In the short clip, posted on podcaster Liz Plank’s Instagram account, the social media influencer can be seen on her knees with her mouth open as Whitmer, wearing a Harris-Walz hat, places a Dorito directly on her tongue.
How else can this be interpreted other than mockery of Catholics and the sacrament of Holy Communion, not to mention the distasteful pornographic innuendo? Fox News wrote that author and filmmaker Liz Plank shared the video on her Instagram account “feministabulous” showing Whitmer feeding her a Doritos chip while she is kneeling.
“If he won’t, Gretchen Whitmer will,” a caption under the Instagram video post reads. “Chips aren’t just delicious, the CHIPS Act is a game-changer for U.S. tech and manufacturing, boosting domestic production of semiconductors to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers! Donald Trump would put that at risk.”
She also shared the video on TikTok with the caption, “new interview with big gretch just dropped!”
The New York Post reported that Whitmer’s cringeworthy video received almost immediate condemnation.
“Many Catholics are going to see this as mocking the communion rail,” Tim Graham, executive editor of NewsBusters, noted on Twitter. “Except Catholics don’t make it look like sensual.”
“Let’s be clear what’s happening in this video,” Trump adviser Tim Murtaugh stressed on Twitter. “Gov. Whitmer of Michigan is pretending to give communion to a leftist podcaster on her knees, using a Dorito as the Eucharist while wearing a Harris-Walz hat.”

Conservative pundit Liz Wheeler lamented: “it’s wild that some Christians refuse to vote when Democrats obviously loathe you… because you’re Christian.”
