Some Democrats are finally realizing that Biden’s obsession with electric vehicles is terrible for both the American people and the environment.
The White House’s attention has shifted significantly towards phasing out gasoline-powered vehicles, leading to attempts to enforce a rule linking highway funding with the reduction of such vehicles on the roads.
The Daily Caller writes that the Democratic senators desperate for reelection have become willing to vote against Biden’s radical green policies in an effort to save their jobs.
Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Jon Tester of Montana voted with their Republican colleagues to nullify a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) rule that critics have characterized as an effort to reduce the number of gas-powered cars on America’s roadways. Independent Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who typically caucuses with Democrats, also voted in favor of the nullification resolution, bringing the final vote tally to 53-47.
The FHWA rule would have required state transportation agencies to establish emissions reduction plans for federally-funded roadway projects. The agency unveiled the finalized rule on the day before Thanksgiving 2023.
Two federal judges also have ruled against the regulation in recent weeks.
Manchin helped introduce the nullification resolution alongside Republican colleagues, while Brown and Tester each face competitive reelection bids in the 2024 cycle.
Biden has said he’ll just veto the bill if it reaches his desk.
The “green energy” regulations coming out of the White House currently crushing the American people isn’t the only thing putting these vulnerable Democrats in a bind.
The Hill writes that Senator “Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and other vulnerable Senate Democrats are facing strong political blowback on a vote that will now happen next week to dismiss impeachment charges against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Republicans have already forced Democrats to take several tough votes on immigration and border security and are hitting them hard with attack ads at home as they lean into the issue ahead of November.
The tactics appear to be taking a toll: Tester said Tuesday that he needs to carefully review the charges against Mayorkas, breaking with other Democrats who are dismissing them outright as a political stunt.
Other Democrats in Republican-leaning or swing states are hedging their answers or not saying how they’ll vote, including Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.).”
What took so Long
The Democrat Senators all know the leadership had failed the American people for some time now. Yet they vote as a block to always support the parties chaotic policies. Like lemmings they follow the leader towards an abyss of destruction not only to themselves but to the reluctant masses of the sensible majority. All for the sake of their interpretation of a left leaning ‘Democracy’. Now as the November elections draw near their conscience has been stirred , albeit a bit too late as far reaching damages have already been done to this nation and people. Their minions of supporters are also complicit for being deaf, dumb and blind to the obvious.
