Former President Donald Trump has once again narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in just two months, raising concerns among lawmakers and prompting renewed scrutiny of his security detail. This latest incident, which occurred over the weekend, did not involve any shots fired, but a gunman was reportedly spotted by Secret Service agents before they could pose a threat.
The would-be assassin appears to have been connected to the Democratic Party and the Ukrainian Foreign Legion.
The repeated breaches of security have led to questions about how an armed individual could again get so close to the leading GOP presidential candidate. Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) voiced his concerns on Fox News, urging Congress to provide any necessary resources to enhance security around Trump.
“If they need more resources from Congress, if the Secret Service needs some type of new technology, if they need more resources to local law enforcement, let us in Congress know,” Waltz stated, according to The Washington Examiner. “This isn’t something we can think about down the road.”
Waltz claimed that Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe had previously assured a Congressional task force that Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris were receiving protection comparable to that of President Joe Biden. However, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw contradicted this, stating that Trump’s security was limited because he is not the sitting president. “At this level that he is at right now, he’s not the sitting president,” Bradshaw noted. “If he was, we would have had this entire golf course surrounded.”
The Congressional task force investigating the first assassination attempt has requested a briefing from the Secret Service to understand the circumstances surrounding the latest incident. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat from Connecticut, recently said that the report from the task force will “shock” the American public.
The fallout from the first assassination attempt in July led to the resignation of former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. Amid growing concerns, Republicans have demanded that the former president receive complete and total security from the Secret Service, while other Republicans have called for a total reform of the agency.
Senator Lindsey Graham recently proposed returning the Secret Service to the Treasury Department’s oversight to enhance its effectiveness.

The first thing needed is to remove all of the leaders of the USSS. This crap is only happening because the USSS, FBI and most likely the CIA are all part of the demonRAT plot to
“get Trump” which all started in 2015 when Trump announced his entry into politics. The demonRATS have failed miserably at everything they tried; multiple impeachments, multiple phony indictments that continue to fall apart every day. So their only option left is to “kill” the man. Twice in less than 60 days they tried it and failed. Trump will not back out. So the part of our government that is not corrupted, if there is any, needs to step up and take aggressive control of the election and provide Trump with every possible type of security they can think of.
