Kamala Pulls The Cringiest Interview Yet

Almost everything about the Kamala Harris for President campaign comes across as fake when you take a closer look at it, but the stunt she pulled recently on late night television might be the cringiest yet.

Harris made her return to “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday night, marking her first late-night appearance since accepting the Democratic presidential nomination in August. The interview capped off a media-heavy day for Harris, who has been engaging with various outlets as part of her presidential campaign as polls have showed her losing grip on winning in November.

In a weird moment, Harris cracked open a can of Miller High Life with Colbert in front of the live studio audience in New York City. “The last time I had beer was at a baseball game with Doug [Emhoff],” Harris joked, referring to her husband. She then repeated the brand’s slogan with a laugh: “The champagne of beers.”

The interview quickly shifted to more serious topics, noted Variety, including revelations from journalist Bob Woodward’s forthcoming book, War. Colbert asked Harris about his favorite obsession: reports that former President Donald Trump had multiple phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin since leaving office.

Harris responded firmly: “Yeah, so I heard about it today. I haven’t read it. But look, I said even at the debate, Donald Trump – he openly admires dictators and authoritarians. He has said he wants to be a dictator on day one if he were elected again as president. He gets played by these guys. He admires so-called strongmen and he gets played because they flatter him or offer him favor.”

The vice president emphasized the importance of strong leadership and standing with allies like NATO and Ukraine. “The commander-in-chief of the United States of America must stand strong and defend the principles that we hold dear. We should stand with our allies. We should strengthen the alliances that we have, such as NATO, which is the strongest military alliance the world has ever seen. We must stand with our friend Ukraine where Russia is attempting to change borders by force.”

When Colbert asked Harris if Trump lost the 2020 election, she didn’t hold back. “You know, when you lost millions of jobs, you lost manufacturing, you lost automotive plants, you lost the election. What does that make you? A loser. This is what somebody at my rallies said. I thought it was funny.”

Colbert, quick to chime in, agreed with her assessment. “It’s accurate. It’s accurate,” he remarked.

With a smile, Harris quipped, “This is what happens when I drink beer,” drawing laughter from the audience.

During the interview, Harris also revealed another accent for some reason.

It has yet to be explained why she decided to talk like Mrs. Doubtfire.

Harris’ appearance on The Late Show is part of her media blitz, which included earlier stops at ABC’s The View and a live interview on The Howard Stern Show. On The View, she praised comedian Maya Rudolph’s impression of her on Saturday Night Live.
