Obama AG Now Working For Chinese Company Suing Pentagon

One of Kamala Harris’ top backers and a prominent member of Obama’s cabinet has been revealed to be working for China’s military and suing the Pentagon. Former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who served under Obama from 2015 to 2017, has taken on a new high-profile case representing Chinese drone manufacturer DJI in a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). The lawsuit, filed on October 18, challenges the Pentagon’s designation of DJI as a “Chinese military company.” Lynch is working with four other attorneys from the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison to contest claims that DJI has significant ties to the Chinese military.

The case responds to the DOD’s decision in 2022 to add DJI to its Section 1260H entity list, which includes companies either owned or controlled by the Chinese armed forces. This designation has intensified scrutiny on DJI’s operations, with accusations that the company supports China’s military-industrial complex. Furthermore, the U.S. Treasury and Commerce Departments have sanctioned DJI, accusing it of supplying surveillance drones to the Chinese government. These drones have reportedly been used to monitor Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang, a region where human rights abuses have been described as genocide by both the Trump and Biden administrations.

Lynch and her legal team are aiming to have the Pentagon’s decision overturned, arguing that the DOD has failed to present sufficient evidence to justify labeling DJI as a Chinese military-controlled entity. DJI asserts that this designation has caused the company financial and reputational harm. The company continues to deny any links to the Chinese military and rejects accusations that it has been involved in human rights abuses.

The lawsuit has sparked political backlash, particularly from Republican New York Representative Elise Stefanik, a vocal critic of DJI. Stefanik, who has long been outspoken about the company’s potential role in Chinese government surveillance efforts, condemned Lynch’s involvement in the case. She accused the former attorney general of trying to deflect attention from DJI’s alleged human rights violations and described Lynch’s defense of the company as a betrayal.

“Barack Obama’s former Attorney General Loretta Lynch has turned her back on her nation, selling out to our greatest adversary Communist China and suing the United States on behalf of CCP-owned drone company DJI,” Republican New York Rep. Elise Stefanik said on earlier in the week. “Not only is her lawsuit full of factual errors, it is also an obvious effort by DJI to distract from CBP’s recent halting of DJI imports due to Uyghur slave labor concerns and a futile attempt to disrupt the momentum behind my unanimously passed Countering CCP Drones Act. DJI’s time in the United States is rightfully coming to an end and Loretta Lynch’s sham lawsuit is not going to save them.”

Stefanik has also been a key proponent of legislation aimed at banning the use of DJI drones in the United States, reported The Daily Caller.

Despite this political opposition, DJI maintains its innocence, emphasizing that it is neither owned nor controlled by the Chinese government or military. The company contends that the U.S. government’s actions against it are part of a broader political strategy amid rising tensions between Washington and Beijing.

Newsweek wrote that “DJI’s drones make up half of the commercial drone market in the U.S. and are commonly used for non-military purposes such as search-and-rescue and disaster relief. Despite multiple attempts to engage with the Pentagon, the company said that the DoD has refused to provide evidence supporting the CMC classification.

‘After attempting to engage with the DoD for more than sixteen months, DJI determined it had no alternative but to seek relief in federal court,’ the company said in its legal filing. DJI claims the DoD’s designation has led to financial losses, canceled contracts and damaged relationships with U.S. customers and partners.”

This is not the first time Lynch has worked to reverse the Pentagon’s stance on DJI. Earlier this year, she made a similar attempt, signaling the importance of the case to the drone manufacturer.

In July, Lynch joined a group of former Department of Justice officials to back Harris for president, saying, “Vice President Harris is the best choice to defeat Donald Trump and lead the nation. She has been a key partner with President Biden in rebuilding America and its standing in the world.”

    • Likely BOTH but we will never know for sure since the lame stream media will never allow that info to become public.

  1. Anybody that does not know that for a Chinese company to be allowed to exist in business that business must bow to the CCP and Chinese military. This is also true for every Chinese exchange student no matter what country they attend school in. They are allowed out of China only if they agree to spy on their host country. THESE ARE C.C.P. rules. There are no exceptions. This is why America should NOT ALLOW ANY CHINESE EXCHANGE STUDENTS ON U.S. SOIL.
