When his dad was president, Hunter Biden talked a big game about suing conservatives into oblivion, but that’s all over now. He can no longer sell his “artwork” for half a millon dollars and no one is offering him no-show jobs anymore, now Hunter Biden is running out of cash. The son of the former president has formally dropped his lawsuit against former White House aide Garrett Ziegler, citing severe financial strain and personal challenges. He previously had dropped a similar suit against Rudy Giuliani.
The lawsuit, originally filed in September 2023, accused Ziegler of unlawfully disseminating data from Biden’s laptop. However, in a legal filing submitted in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Biden’s attorneys stated that he “does not have the resources to continue to litigate this matter.”
The filing outlines a significant downturn in Biden’s financial situation, attributing it to declining income, mounting debt, and recent personal upheavals. Among the setbacks, Biden was forced to vacate his rental home in Pacific Palisades after it was rendered uninhabitable by wildfires, noted The New York Post. His legal team emphasized that the displacement, combined with financial obligations related to his family’s living expenses, has taken precedence over the lawsuit.
Biden’s financial disclosures provide further insight into his struggles. Between 2021 and late 2023, he sold 27 pieces of artwork at an average price of $54,481.48, yet since December 2023, only one piece has sold for $36,000. His book sales have also declined, with copies of his memoir dropping from 3,161 sold between April and September 2023 to just 1,100 in the following six months. He had initially anticipated paid speaking engagements following the book’s release, but those opportunities never materialized.
The court filing underscores how these financial setbacks have left Biden unable to service his substantial debt, which reports suggest is in the millions. In a personal statement included in the filing, he admitted that this financial instability has also restricted his ability to secure loans, further complicating his situation.
Biden’s lawsuit against Ziegler centered on claims of invasion of privacy and unauthorized distribution of sensitive information. With the case now withdrawn, it remains uncertain whether he will pursue other legal options. His legal team has not issued further comments.
