Jamie White, a journalist for the Alex Jones website Infowars, was killed late Sunday night outside his home in Austin, Texas, in what police are investigating as a homicide.
The Austin Police Department reported that officers responded to an emergency call about an injured individual near an apartment complex at approximately 11:59 p.m, according to multiple reports. Upon arrival, they discovered White with severe trauma. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. While authorities have not disclosed the exact nature of his wounds, they have confirmed that the case remains an active homicide investigation.
Infowars founder Alex Jones publicly addressed White’s death, linking it to local criminal justice policies, reported Mediaite. “We are deeply saddened to announce that Infowars reporter Jamie White was brutally murdered,” Jones stated on social media Monday. He specifically criticized Travis County District Attorney José Garza, suggesting that his policies contributed to the killing.
In a video statement, Jones described White as a dedicated journalist who was deeply committed to his work. “We sent people over this morning when he didn’t answer his phone. When they arrived at the apartment complex, there was yellow tape everywhere, blood all over the parking lot,” Jones recounted.
Although Jones claimed that police have identified potential suspects, authorities have yet to release any details regarding arrests or motives. The Austin Police Department is urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as the investigation continues.
White’s death is the latest in a series of violent incidents in Austin, a city where debates over law enforcement policies remain highly divisive.
