Liberals Mad Over Wayne Gretzky Attending Trump Celebration

Hockey icon Wayne Gretzky ignited a wave of social media backlash last week after he and his family were spotted at an election celebration for President-elect Donald Trump. The Canadian sports legend was photographed at Mar-a-Lago wearing a white “Make America Great Again” cap, joined by his wife Janet, daughter Paulina, and son-in-law Dustin Johnson.

The Daily Mail explained:

Among the guests was Canadian Gretzky, who is widely acknowledged to be the greatest ice hockey player of all time. He was with his wife, Janet Jones Gretzky, son Trevor, model daughter Paulina, and her husband, top golfer Dustin Johnson.

Paulina shared an image of the family posing at the party while Gretzky, 63, was also snapped wearing a white and gold ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.

Janet Jones also posted a picture of Gretzky with a beaming Donald Trump, although it doesn’t appear to be from the party.

She captioned it: ‘Congratulations Mr. President Donald J Trump. You did it, you deserved it, your earned every bit of it. The world is a better place to have you as our leader, proud to be an American. Thank you for being such a great friend. ay God keep watching over you. Love our family to yours!’

Liberal journalists, of course, could not handle that someone famous might not hold the same political views they do. Kylte Cantlon, a writer at Yahoo, for example, wrote that “though the jarring visuals may cause some to look twice — or three, four, five times — this development shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone as Gretzky, much like many wealthier, middle-aged white men, has a history of supporting conservative candidates on both sides of the border.”

Other readers joined Cantlon in the great whine.

Gretzky joined a roster of athletes who publicly supported Trump in his bid to unseat Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race. Notable names from various sports have endorsed Trump in recent months, including NFL players Nick Bosa, Harrison Butker, and James Winchester; former NFL quarterback Brett Favre; race car driver Danica Patrick; social media influencer and boxer Jake Paul; and UFC fighters like Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell.

Trump’s win proved decisive, as he swept through key battleground states to claim victory. With nearly complete dominance across swing regions, Trump broke through the so-called “blue wall” of traditionally Democratic states, securing Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

  1. The stupid Left goes crazy over absolutely everything. Their “identity politics” does not resonate with the majority of Americans. The WOKE movement is dying the death of a thousand cuts. DEI is losing more ground daily with big businesses throwing off the Marxist nonsense. The cancel culture is being ignored. The people are sick and tired of the liberal B.S. and showed it BIG TIME on Nov 5th.
