Trump Pulls Hunter’s Secret Service

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he is revoking Secret Service protection for Hunter Biden and Ashley Biden, the adult children of former President Joe Biden.

“Effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection,” Trump stated on Truth Social. He also confirmed that Ashley Biden “will be taken off the list” of individuals receiving federal security.

A Secret Service official acknowledged the decision, affirming that the agency is coordinating with the White House to ensure a smooth transition. “The Secret Service is actively working with protective details and White House officials to implement the directive as soon as possible,” an official told The New York Post.

Representatives for Joe Biden and Hunter Biden have not responded to media inquiries regarding the decision as of Monday evening.

Under federal law, former presidents and their spouses are entitled to lifelong Secret Service protection unless they decline it. Their children receive protection until they reach the age of 16. However, it is common for sitting presidents to extend security coverage to the adult children of their predecessors for a limited time after leaving office.

Before departing the White House in January, Joe Biden had authorized Secret Service protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden through July 2025. Similarly, when Biden succeeded Trump in 2021, he approved extended security for Trump’s adult children for six months.

Since returning to office, Trump has made comparable decisions regarding security privileges for former officials. In January, he rescinded Secret Service protection for Dr. Anthony Fauci, who played a key role in the federal COVID-19 response, and for John Bolton, a former national security adviser and outspoken Trump critic who has received threats against his life from Iran.

“When you work for the government, at some point, your security detail comes off,” Trump stated at the time. “And, you know, you can’t have them forever.”

The termination of Hunter Biden’s Secret Service protection comes at a time when he is grappling with significant financial difficulties. Despite receiving an obviously corrupt pardon from his father, the former president’s son is allegedly broke.

In legal documents submitted in California, Biden’s attorneys stated that he is experiencing a severe decline in income and accumulating debt in the millions. His financial troubles, they noted, were exacerbated by wildfires in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, which rendered his rental home unlivable for an extended period.

Biden’s legal team further explained that the instability in his housing situation has made it difficult for him to secure steady employment. They emphasized that his priority must be relocating his family and managing financial obligations, rather than pursuing litigation against Ziegler.

Despite selling 27 paintings at an average price of $54,500 each in recent years, Biden disclosed in court filings that he had only sold one piece for $36,000 since his father was no longer running for office. Likewise, his book sales dropped from over 3,100 copies in the six months before filing the lawsuit to just 1,100 in the subsequent period.
