Pope’s MAGA Brother Received Bomb Threat

Police responded Wednesday night to a bomb threat at the home of Louis Prevost, the brother of Pope Leo XIV, in this Chicago suburb, but authorities later determined the report was unfounded.

Louis is well-known to be a supporter of Donald Trump and a Republican.

The New Lenox Police Department said officers searched the residence, deploying bomb-sniffing K-9 units, and found no explosive devices or other hazards, according to The Hill.

Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution and later allowed to return home. No injuries were reported.

“The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the origin of the report,” police stated. “Making false reports of this nature is a serious offense and may result in criminal charges.”

Authorities thanked residents for their cooperation and asked anyone with information to contact the New Lenox Police Department at 815-485-2500 or submit an anonymous tip through the Village of New Lenox website.

The incident follows renewed public attention on Prevost after a Truth Social post earlier this week by President Donald Trump, who praised him while criticizing Pope Leo XIV’s remarks opposing the U.S. conflict with Iran and calling for peace.

“Louis is all MAGA. He gets it, and Leo doesn’t!” Trump wrote. “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon.”
