Joe Biden, Like Trump, Loves MSNBC In The Morning

Earlier in the week, reports revealed that President Joe Biden loathes Donald Trump and frequently uses a derogatory term in private to describe his predecessor. 

However, when it comes to news shows, both Trump and Biden have something weirdly in common: they love MSNBC’s television show Morning Joe. 

During the GOP primary, when liberals thought Trump would inevitably lose to Hillary Clinton, he was a frequent guest on the show, which helped boost his popularity and make in the GOP nominee. 

Biden’s love for the MSNBC morning staple has even gone as far as affecting how the White House runs, including who Biden listens to.

Axios writes:

The president often calls co-host Joe Scarborough — a former Republican congressman who’s now a harsh critic of Donald Trump — to get Scarborough’s take on issues and sometimes vent about media coverage, according to people familiar with the relationship.

During the day, Biden has long asked his staff whether they saw a story, a poll, or a segment that had been on the show. He’s included show regulars in off-the-record conversations with policy experts.

Biden pays particular attention to — and has consulted with — “Morning Joe” regulars such as longtime reporter Mike Barnicle, foreign policy expert Richard Haass and historian Jon Meacham, who has assisted on several Biden speeches.

Because Biden watches “Morning Joe” so often, most of his top aides watch or track the show to anticipate potential questions from him.

According to other reports, Biden uses Joe Scarborough, a former moderate Republican member of Congress, to get his opinion about the issues of the day and to complain about media coverage.

Kamala Harris has appeared to even try to get Scarbourough and Brzezinski to help her make the president like her again. Last month, the vice president and her husband, second gentleman Douglas Emhoff, hosted the hosts for a dinner at the official vice president’s residence in Washington, DC.

There has been no discussion of whether or not, during his more “senior moments,” the president thinks “Morning Joe” is just about himself.
