Cheney Attacks Parents’ Rights Push, Urges Gun Control

Former Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming mirrored comments from Jenna Bush Jager criticizing the GOP’s focus on children’s books over gun violence in schools.

During NBC’s “Today” show, the daughter of former President George W. Bush gave her thoughts on the recent Nashville school shooting.

The shooter, a transgender man (biological female) who was in treatment for an emotional disorder, killed three children and three adults before she was fatally shot by responding officers.

“I have a friend in Nashville, so I knew of one of the little girls who was 9, who went to school yesterday and who didn’t get to come home,” Bush Hager said.

“We are worried about giving our kids Judy Blume and other books that are important to the history, to the fabric of our country? And we aren’t worried about sending our kids to schools where they’re not safe?” she continued. “Like I just don’t understand what has happened to a country that I know, you love, that I love.”

Cheney Inserts Her Opinion

Cheney took to Twitter to thank Bush Hager for her comments.

“Thank you @JennaBushHager for making this point today – if we really want to keep our children safe, we need to spend less time banning books and more time stopping the horrific gun violence in our schools,” Cheney tweeted.

Cheney consistently voted with House Democrats last year on gun control legislation, including what was deemed the “most sweeping gun violence legislation of the past 30 years”.

She said she fully believed the legislation would reduce violence and increase safety.

“Nothing in the bill restricts the rights of responsible gun owners. Period,” Cheney said at the time.

Since falling from the Republican party’s good graces after her endless vendetta against former President Donald Trump, and being utterly rejected at the polls by Wyoming voters, Cheney has been teaching at The University of Virginia’s Center for Politics.

  1. Yep – that ‘sweeping gun control’ y’all enacted sure was effective in stopping that shooting wasn’t it?
Harden the schools and provide REAL security measures and there might be a chance for the kids and staff.
‘she’ shot the entry doors out to gain entry and there was absolutely NOTHING to stop ‘her’ once ‘she’ got inside until the coppers arrived. BTW, exactly what ‘gun control’ laws would have prevented this atrocity?

    • Couldn’t agree more with both of these writings. God is our hope! All these legislations that have been put in place have not stopping the killings with guns. It’s not the guns! These bird brains don’t want to understand that. They want your guns! It’s the hearts of man that needs changing! Also there are no repercussions for breaking the law. We gave a lawless, godless country under this administration. What else would one expect? Only God can change a heart.

  2. Gun control does NOTHING to stop killings. As usual “politicians” KNOW NOTHING, they are just looking to TAKE YOUR FREEDOMS away. Evil libs only go after the LAW ABIDING.

They take GOD OUT OF EVERYTHING. Then say we NEED TO DO SOMETHING. Only God can change a person’s heart. But EVIL wants God out. So EVIL dems & some republicans take the only thing that works & throw it out with everything GOOD. So what are we LEFT with PURE EVIL. EVIL RUINS EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES. While good Americans watch their country go down the toilet. EVIL LIES, STEALS, CHEATS & DESTROYS ALL IT TOUCHES.

Just like in the days of Noah. Evil has destroyed a country FOUNDED ON THE WORD OF GOD. There is HOPE. Just NOT in the evil dems Look up Jesus is waiting for each person.
