AOC Claims Biden Is One Of The Best Presidents We’ve Had

With the prospect of Donald Trump returning to the White House, Democrats are rallying to Joe Biden, despite his clear deficiencies. 

No one has exemplified this move more than New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The leader of the leftwing “Squad” has come out in defense of Biden over the past week, saying that despite the DOJ report that effectively revealed Biden is not there mentally, he would be significantly better than a fully-minded Donald Trump. 

The Washington Examiner writes that AOC labeled Biden one of the best to do ever to do the job. 

“I know who I’m going to choose [for president]: It’s going to be one of the most successful presidents in modern American history,” Ocasio-Cortez told CNN on Tuesday. “[He] passed the inflation reduction that got us the American Rescue Plan that ensured that we could pass one of the largest federal investments in climate change in U.S. history.”

Critics of the president have questioned his mental competency after a special counsel report acknowledged Biden’s memory was “significantly limited.”

Ocasio-Cortez rejected the criticism of Biden’s age as a legitimate concern, pointing out that former President Donald Trump, 77, the Republican front-runner for president, is close to Biden’s age of 81.

“I think right now, when it comes to the president’s age, folks are talking about how he’s 81,” the congresswoman said. “But we have to look at, first of all, Donald Trump is around the same age. They could have gone to high school together. And beyond that, Donald Trump has 91 indictments.”

The interview is a major change in tune for AOC. Last spring, the New Yorker slammed Biden after he approved an oil drilling project in Alaska, for example. 

At the time, Fox News reported that “the Democrats argued that the decision moving forward with the Willow Project — an oil drilling project forecasted to produce up to 614 million barrels of crude oil over its 30-year lifespan — contradicts Biden’s broader climate agenda. They also indicated that the only acceptable outcome would have been for the president to completely reject the project.

‘The Biden administration has committed to fighting climate change and advancing environmental justice—today’s decision to approve the Willow project fails to live up to those promises’ Ocasio-Cortez said in a joint statement with Reps. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., Jared Huffman, D-Calif., and Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass. ‘Their decision ignores … the irrefutable science that says we must stop building projects like this to slow the ever more devastating impacts of climate change.’

‘This administration clearly knows what the path to a cleaner and more just future looks like — we wish they hadn’t chosen to stray so far from that path with today’s Willow decision,’ they continued. ‘The only acceptable Willow project is no Willow project.'”

Donald Trump winning in recent polling has apparently been very clarifying for the leftwing House member.
