On Monday, the International Criminal Court announced that it believes kidnapping, raping, and killing innocent women and children and starting a war is the same as prosecuting a defensive war.
The international body, known for hating Israel and the United States, announced that it seeks to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar on charges of war crimes.
The New York Post writes:
The charges are tied to the deadly Oct. 7 terror attacks on Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza, the court’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, said in a statement Monday.
Warrants are also being sought for Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and two top Hamas leaders.
The charges against the Hamas terror chiefs include extermination, murder, torture, rape and taking hostages, all as war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel is accused of “wilful killing,” “starvation of civilians as a method of warfare” and “wilfully causing great suffering.”
“My office submits that the war crimes alleged in these applications were committed in the context of an international armed conflict between Israel and Palestine, and a non-international armed conflict between Israel and Hamas (together with other Palestinian Armed Groups) running in parallel,” the prosecutor said.
Based in The Hague, in the Netherlands, The ICC has authority to charge individuals with war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
American defenders of Israel, such as Lindsey Graham, slammed the decision, reported The Hill.
“This outrageous decision is truly a slap in the face to the independent judiciary of Israel, which is renowned for their independence,” Graham said in a statement, vowing to push for sanctions against the ICC.
“We must not forget as a nation the International Criminal Court threatened to bring action against American forces in Afghanistan – and we are a non-member,” he said.
“I will feverishly work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle in both chambers to levy damning sanctions against the ICC,” he added.
The ICC prosecutor had told American leaders that it would conduct a thorough investigation into the war before making a decision.
“I feel that I was lied to and that my colleagues were lied to. Prosecutor Khan is drunk with self-importance and has done a lot of damage to the peace process and to the ability to find a way forward,” Graham said.
God bless Israel. The ICC and our regime leader might want to remember Genesis 12:2-3.
