In a new interview, liberal Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said that the Supreme Court is “prepared as anyone can be” for the possibility that the upcoming presidential election could be decided in the courtroom.
Speaking to CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell, the Biden appointee said, “I think there are legal issues that arise out of the political process. And so, the Supreme Court has to be prepared to respond — if — if that should be necessary.”
The Hill writes that Jackson’s rare interview comes as she prepares to release her memoir, “Lovely One,” next week. An interview excerpt will air on Tuesday’s “CBS Evening News” before the full sit-down is broadcast this weekend on “CBS News Sunday Morning,” according to the network.
“Are you prepared that this election could end up before the Supreme Court?” O’Donnell asked the justice.
“As prepared as anyone can be,” Jackson responded, before laughing. “Let me ask you, are you prepared for all of the news cycles that you’re getting as a result of this election?”
O’Donnell replied, “Um, no.”
The Supreme Court may soon have to get involved with another aspect of the election. On Tuesday, Jack Smith once again showed his willingness to shape the election.
New Conservative Post explained: “If at first, you don’t succeed at trying to use lawfare to jail the leading candidate for president after he knocked out the sitting president, try again. That’s what Jack Smith and Attorney General Merrick Garland appear to believe.
With less than 70 days before the upcoming presidential election and the Republican and Democrat virtually tied across the country, Joe Biden’s Department of Justice has once again indicted Donald Trump under the guise that he attempted to “subvert the 2020 presidential election.”
A new 36-page indictment against Donald Trump, secured by special counsel Jack Smith, aims to streamline the case in light of a recent Supreme Court ruling that grants presidents broad immunity from prosecution for official actions. While some specific allegations were removed, the indictment retains the four original charges, including conspiracy to defraud the United States. Smith’s team indicates that the Supreme Court’s decision doesn’t significantly hinder their case, noting the indictment was presented to a new grand jury to align with the Court’s guidance. This move reflects efforts to respect and implement the Supreme Court’s rulings.
I have seen so much about how the D Party and other evil ones rigged the 2020 election. Very little of this has been put out on fake news shows….therefore, a majority of the nation, who still actually trust fake news to tell the truth, will be falling for the notion that elections are still secure. The fraud has been going on for decades and must stop. Even the Supreme Court judges are being fooled (or bribed) into thinking that to question an election that has tremendous proof of fraud is wrong. What IS wrong, is simply ignoring that evidence which trashed the votes of millions of people. This is America…not Venezuela! We want and need secure elections even if it means our soldiers come alongside the poll workers up till the reporting of the numbers to insure the accuracy. Paper ballots! One day voting! ID required. Get rid of the machines!!
RowZ – “fooled (or bribed/threatened)” – there, fixed that part for ya.
I agree with most of the rest of your comment except for the “One day voting” – you and lots of others, apparently don’t understand how early voting works. It allows folks to vote on their schedule, not some arbitrary single day. Voters still have to meet the same requirements (US Citizen/proof of residency etc.) as one day voting. That prevents back logs like having to stand in extremely long lines or making the polls stay open late. One of our local polling stations had to stay open way past 2200 (10 PM) to accommodate (required by state law) the folks already in line at the normal closing time. The convenience for us disabled vets to be able to avoid standing in lines cannot be overstated.
And even guarding the counting rooms with millitary won’t necessarily solve the fraud potential. Who would choose the individual soldiers? SloJoe? Woke generals?
Hmm – so the ‘person’ who cannot define what a ‘woman’ is ‘feelz’ that something as critical as a presidential election should be left in the hands of ‘her’ and her ilk. Yep, that makes ‘perfect’ sense (NOT).
