Helicopter Pilot Threatened With Arrest For Helping Hurricane Victims

A South Carolina helicopter pilot who airlifted Hurricane Helene victims from flood-stricken areas of North Carolina has been threatened by authorities with arrest if he continues his rescue efforts.

After Jordan Seidhom flew victims to safety over the weekend, local officials informed him of a flight restriction in the area and warned he could be sent to jail if he persisted in helping his neighbors.

Queen City News writes:

When Jordan Seidhom woke up Saturday morning, he saw a Facebook post that tens of thousands of people were commenting on and sharing. A family was stranded on a mountain in Banner Elk, North Carolina.

They ran out of water a day earlier and just enough food to last less than two days.

Seidhom, the former head of the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit, knows a thing or two about finding people. He researched the mountain chain where the family was located and found a place to land on his mapping software.

He loaded bottled water and food into his helicopter and headed toward Banner Elk.

“I thought, I have a helicopter, maybe I can help,” Seidhom told Queen City News Chief Investigator Jody Barr.

According to The New York Post, Seidhom said, “I originally left my son, co-pilot, on the side of the mountain. [The helicopter] was kind of unstable, so I didn’t want to put more weight on the helicopter to lift it back off. So, I left my son with the other victim. And I was just going to take one person down at the time.”

Seidhom planned to return for the other victim and his son until authorities threatened to have him arrested if he continued picking up stranded victims, Seidhom told local reporters.

“I explained to him that I left my son on the side of the mountain, and I left another victim. I was going to go back and bring them, it was already set up for the landing spot and then I would get out of his area. He told me I wasn’t going to go back up the mountain to get them, I was going to leave them there,” he said.

Defeated Seidhom was only allowed to retrieve his son, explaining to the husband he hoped to save that the government had prevented him from helping him.

Officials in the town of Lake Lure could not immediately be reached by The Post.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have both been heavily criticized for their lackadaisical response to the destruction in North Carolina. Biden waited a week before visiting the site and Harris has skipped her briefings on national disasters.

  1. The lefties don’t care about folks in the Carolinas and Florida. These are states Kammie doesn’t expect to win, and the folks are probably deplorable, anyway.

    • Western North Carolina is “Trump country” so most likely they will not receive any emergency help from the government. Just asl the governor of NC.

  2. Since harris refused to attend a briefing about Helene and attended a hollywood fundraiser instead, and biden said ‘F___ them. They are Trump supporters,” I wonder where the orders came from.
Fema and the dems have yet to lift a finger to help. Sound familiar? Remember Ofailure, declining help to Long Islanders and New Jersey residents when Sandy hit?
