Everything with Kamala Harris is scripted and during a campaign event, the vice president proved it. The Democratic presidential nominee experienced an embarrassing moment on Friday when a teleprompter mishap left her struggling to finish her remarks during a campaign rally in Michigan.
The incident occurred as Harris, once again found herself at a loss for words, casting doubts about her ability to handle high-pressure moments on the campaign trail.
During the speech, Harris referenced basketball legend Magic Johnson and his jersey number, 32, as a segue into the countdown to Election Day. She confidently started with, “Remember his number? 32! Today we’ve got 32 days until the election.” But then, the speech took a sudden turn as Harris awkwardly repeated “32 days… 32 days…” multiple times, her discomfort growing as the audience became silent, The Daily Caller noted in the cringeworthy moment.

“So, 32 days,” Harris said, appearing to wait for her teleprompter to work again. “Thirty-two days.”
“Okay, we got some business to do. We got some business to do. Alright,” the vice president continued.
“Thirty-two days. And we know, we will do it,” Harris said, prompting her audience to shriek.
“And! And … this is gonna be a very tight race until the very end. This is gonna be a very tight race until the very end. We are the underdog, and we know we got some hard work ahead, but here’s the thing about us,” Harris said, finding her footing once more as the teleprompter apparently began working again. “We like hard work!”
Harris, who often struggles to stay on message when speaking off-the-cuff, appeared flustered as she scanned the room, seemingly unsure of how to proceed without the guidance of the teleprompter. The vice president’s discomfort was palpable, raising questions about whether she was prepared to deliver her message or was simply stranded without her talking points.
Michigan has proven to be more elusive for Harris than expected. America’s News Desk reported that Elissa Slotkin, a frontrunner for Senate in the swing state of Michigan has begun sounding the alarm. Over the weekend, the current member of the House warned donors last week that internal polling from her Senate campaign shows Kamala Harris is “underwater” in Michigan, according to a video clip obtained by Axios. She seems concerned that Harris will sink her own race.
In a virtual fundraiser alongside Senator Cory Booker from New Jersey, Slotkin shared her concerns, stating, “I’m not feeling my best right now about where we are on Kamala Harris in a place like Michigan.” She added that Harris is trailing in their campaign’s internal polls.
