It’s often uttered but rarely followed through: “If my candidate doesn’t win, I’m leaving the United States.” With Donald Trump securing a second term, however, many liberals upset by the election appear to be saying this time will be different.
In the 24 hours after polls closed on the East Coast, Google searches for “move to Canada” surged by 1,270 percent, according to Google Trends. Searches for New Zealand climbed nearly 2,000 percent, while those for Australia increased by 820 percent. By late Wednesday evening, the desire to relocate to these three countries had reached unprecedented levels, according to a new report by Reuters.
While Google didn’t release specific search numbers, Immigration New Zealand reported a striking increase, with 25,000 U.S.-based visitors to their site on November 7, compared to just 1,500 on the same date last year.
The surge in interest reflects a familiar pattern from Trump’s initial 2016 win, though the urgency now appears even more intense. According to Edison Research, nearly three-quarters of voters this cycle felt that American democracy was at risk, underscoring the divisiveness of Trump’s campaign.
Evan Green, managing partner at the Canadian immigration law firm Green and Spiegel, described a wave of inquiries. “Every half hour, we’re getting a new email,” he said, noting the frustration that’s pushing Americans to consider moving. Green explained that while Trump’s presidency is a trigger, it’s also part of a larger societal shift. “Trump is obviously the impetus, but it’s also societal,” he said. “The majority of Americans voted for him, and some people don’t feel comfortable in that kind of society anymore. People worry they’re going to lose freedoms.”
Before pulling the trigger to moving Canada, some liberals might want to meet Pierre Poilievre, the next prime minister.

Conservatives have dominated polling in the Great White North over the last year. Canada is expected to hold its next election some time in 2025.
Anyone that decides to move elsewhere should be required to sign a pledge that they will NOT ever return to the USA under any circumstances. And renounce their Citizenship and forfeit all potential Social Security benefits they might have been ‘entitled’ to. I suspect that none of them have considered that going elsewhere they will not be allowed to whimper, whine and wail about much of anything like they continually do here.
Totally agree!
Bye bye now…just keep your word.
I really wish we sane people could force all of the jackass celerities to leave the country as they posted all over the internet and social media. The U.S.A. would immediately become much more intelligent country by IQ standards. These liberal fools lost their ability for logical thought as soon as they entered Americas public school systems. Please, please please keep your word and leave A.S.A.P.
Good luck in Canada you commies.
Trudeau (who is Castros illegitimate son) will soon be run out of Dodge and the Canadian parliament is now majority Conservative. Whatever, do us a favor and go.
Justin Treaudope really does resemble Castro. And Pierre and the Mrs. did spend time in Cuba right about the time needed for the Mrs to screw around on the old commie. Either way I believe Trudeau should be punished for what he did to Canada. The first thing would be to revoke his passport so he can’t run to China. His lawlessness MUST be dealt with. Sadly the most expansive part of Canada has such a small population. Canada needs to modify it’s election system to like what the U.S. Founders did with the Electoral College System.
Canada
New Zealand
Australia
OK bye bye
yeah need help packing?
“According to Edison Research, nearly three-quarters of voters this cycle felt that American democracy was at risk, underscoring the divisiveness of Trump’s campaign.”
How many of those felt that American democracy was at risk because of the Democrats? How many know the United States is NOT a democracy and never has been? How many know the Framers EXPLICITLY rejected democracy as our form of governance? How many know that it was the Democrat Party that put forth a candidate that no one voted for, not the Republicans?
Based upon the information given it is disingenuous to blame the Trump campaign.
