Some are saying that Hunter Biden may have discovered his latest scheme. Nearly 200 pieces of artwork by Hunter Biden, valued at “several million dollars,” were reportedly destroyed in the catastrophic wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles, according to The New York Post.
The collection was stored near the Pacific Palisades residence of Kevin Morris, Hunter Biden’s attorney and “sugar brother,” a source familiar with the Biden family told the newspaper.
Morris, who loaned the first son nearly $5 million to help pay a tax bill and has been financing a documentary on him, lives in a sprawling five-bedroom, six-bathroom home which is among the few houses still intact in the posh neighborhood, The Post can confirm.
A lawyer for Hunter Biden, who is a self-taught artist who turned to painting while in recovery from drug addiction, did not immediately return a request for comment.
A Soho gallerist who represented the first son’s work and had organized solo shows of his paintings in Los Angeles and New York from 2021 said he broke ties with Hunter last year.
“I don’t know what’s happening with the art,” said gallery owner Georges Berges. “I have some of his work on canvas, some metal pieces at the gallery.”
Hunter’s art pieces have been priced as high as $500,000 each, although Berges told The Post the average price was closer to $85,000.
Morris allegedly ran out of money to defend the president’s son sometime last year.
Politico noted that “Morris has played a key role in handling Biden’s legal bills, as he detailed in an interview with lawmakers in January. The possibility that Morris can no longer serve as a benefactor is the latest sign of the tumult surrounding the president’s son in the final weeks of preparation for two trials that he — and his father — had hoped would never happen.
The person close to Morris said that the Hollywood lawyer faces financial constraints that present “a huge problem” and that there are concerns about how Biden will pay for expert witnesses to testify for him at his Delaware trial. It is unclear precisely how much Morris has spent thus far to support Biden, but in a January letter to the House oversight committee, Morris’ lawyer said Morris had loaned Biden more than $6.5 million.”
The wildfires have devastated countless homes, businesses, and cultural assets across Southern California.
