Trump Takes Out DEI

It’s over for DEI. Federal employees recently received notice that they could face repercussions if they fail to report colleagues working in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility roles that may have been hidden from government oversight. This directive, which came directly from the White House, is part of a broader initiative by the Trump administration to dismantle DEIA programs across federal agencies.

Emails obtained by NBC News reveal that employees were instructed to notify the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) about any ways that DEI offices are being hidden by liberals who have burrowed into the federal bureaucracy.

“We are aware of efforts by some in government to disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language,” said emails sent to government employees and obtained by NBC News.

Employees were directed to notify the Office of Personnel Management if they are “aware of a change in any contract description or personnel position description since November 5, 2024 to obscure the connection between the contract and DEIA or similar ideologies.”

“There will be no adverse consequences for timely reporting this information,” the email said. “However, failure to report this information within 10 days may result in adverse consequences.”

Workers across multiple agencies and departments have received emails with the same language as of Wednesday night.

The directive comes amidst a broader rollback of diversity and inclusion protections under the current administration. Earlier in the week, President Trump revoked an executive order that barred discrimination by federal contractors and required affirmative action for factors such as race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Additionally, he issued an order reinforcing a binary understanding of sex as male and female, signaling a significant step back for LGBTQ+ protections.

Federal agencies were tasked with sending the reporting memo to employees by 5 p.m. Wednesday, though it remains unclear whether some agencies may have altered or omitted the specified language. Many employees have expressed concern and confusion over the policy, particularly regarding the undefined “adverse consequences” for noncompliance.

The order will likely place hundreds, if not thousands, of DEI bureaucrats throughout the federal government on leave.

  1. DEI is nothing but good old fashioned racial and gender reverse discrimination. A Federal Court ruled that DEI is not only discriminatory and by that standard TOTALLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

  2. It is a monumental undertaking but maybe the most important challenge President Trump and his administration will face. If we can’t clean the America haters and those representing foreign interests out of our government we will never prosper. Either you support our country or you are gone.
