Van Jones Criticizes Dems For Posturing

CNN political analyst Van Jones recently criticized his own party, warning that Democrats’ efforts to appear tougher — such as using more profanity and making edgy remarks — are not working in their favor. Speaking on CNN NewsNight, Jones said he believes Democrats are trying too hard to imitate former President Donald Trump’s aggressive style, a move he sees as misguided. He pointed out that instead of strengthening their message, the party is starting to rely too much on curse words, which he doubts will be effective, noted The Daily Caller.

His remarks came after Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett made a controversial comment, referring to Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, as “Governor Hot Wheels.” Though Crockett later clarified that her comment was aimed at Abbott’s immigration stance and not his disability, the backlash was strong. Jones said Crockett, as a newer member of Congress, should be more careful and appeared to suggest that she hadn’t taken full responsibility for the insensitive nature of her remark.

Jones also pointed to what he sees as a larger pattern, noting that other Democrats — including figures like Pete Buttigieg — have begun using strong language more frequently. He questioned where this strategy was coming from and whether it truly reflects the values or voices of the party. According to him, these changes seem less about genuine expression and more about trying to keep up with Trump’s combative approach, which he warned may not be the right path forward.

The criticism comes at a tough time for Democrats, two recent polls showed that America has grown tired of their antics with only a third of the country approving the party, among the lowest ever heading into a major election year.
