The weirdest school district in America appears to be at it again. Two male students in Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) have been suspended after objecting to a female student, who identifies as male, repeatedly entering the boys’ locker room and filming a video, according to reporting by WJLA, a local ABC affiliate.
The incident began when three male students raised concerns about the female student’s use of the locker room. LCPS opened an investigation, ultimately suspending two of the boys for alleged sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination. According to WJLA, the disciplinary measures included a 10-day suspension, a no-contact order barring them from attending classes with the female student, and a mandatory corrective action plan with school administrators.
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares condemned the suspensions, telling the Daily Caller News Foundation: “Loudoun County Public Schools weaponized Title IX to punish male students for expressing discomfort at being forced to share a locker room with a female student. This suspension is completely unjustified and tramples their constitutional rights. My Office is monitoring the situation.”
LCPS defended its policy permitting students to use facilities that align with their gender identity, reaffirming the stance despite warnings from the Trump administration that districts could lose federal funding. The U.S. Department of Education has previously found LCPS in violation of civil rights law on related matters. Governor Glenn Youngkin has also criticized the district, calling its handling of such cases “a disturbing misuse of authority” for punishing students who objected.
One of the suspended students has since left Virginia with his family, WJLA reported. LCPS declined to comment, citing student privacy protections.
The episode revives memories of the 2021 uproar when Scott Smith confronted the school board after his daughter was sexually assaulted in a girls’ bathroom by a student claiming a transgender identity. District leaders attempted to conceal the incident, sparking national outrage, DOJ involvement, and a push by the National School Boards Association to brand angry parents as potential domestic terrorists.
That cover-up culminated in criminal charges: a special grand jury indicted former Superintendent Scott Ziegler on three misdemeanors, including false publication and retaliating against an employee, while district spokesman Wayde Byard was charged with perjury.
Now, with students suspended for voicing concerns, Loudoun again finds itself at the center of America’s fiercest battles over gender identity, parental rights, and constitutional freedoms—a district where controversy has become the norm rather than the exception.
