More American Troops Deployed To The Middle East

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered an increase in troops, ships, fighter jets, and land-based firepower to the Middle East to counter Iranian threats, according to new reports. The move reflects heightened tensions in the Middle East following Israel’s assassination of key figures in its war against Hamas and Hezbollah—Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr.

The question remains: where’s Joe Biden? It’s the president that should be ordering troops around, not the Secretary of Defense.

Since announcing that he was no longer running for president, swapping himself out for Kamala Harris, the president has rarely been seen in public. When he has, it’s been clear that he’s not entirely all there. For example, after welcoming home hostages from Russia on Friday, the president appeared to be confused and walked onto the plane that carried them home, perhaps thinking it was Air Force One.

Democratic leaders have reportedly threatened Biden with removal from office in order to make him comply with their demands. With war on the horizon, a disappearing president couldn’t be happening at a worse time.

According to Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, the U.S. is deploying additional ballistic missile defense-capable cruisers and destroyers to the U.S. European Command and U.S. Central Command areas. This enhancement is a proactive measure to bolster defense capabilities against potential missile threats.

In addition to naval reinforcements, the Pentagon is increasing its readiness to deploy additional land-based ballistic missile defense systems. This step is crucial for strengthening regional defense infrastructure and ensuring rapid response capabilities in case of an escalation.

Furthermore, the U.S. is dispatching an additional fighter squadron to the Middle East. This move enhances aerial defense and provides greater flexibility for responding to various threats. The USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group will also be replaced by the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, ensuring a continuous and robust naval presence in the region.

Singh said that Secretary Austin made the moves “to improve US force protection, to increase support for the defense of Israel, and to ensure the United States is prepared to respond to various contingencies” and that they will complement the “broad range of capabilities” the American already has in place in the region.
