Federal law enforcement officials are ramping up their investigation into a series of attacks targeting Tesla facilities across the United States. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has classified these incidents as “domestic terrorism,” underscoring their severity. Multiple individuals have been arrested in connection with acts of vandalism, including charges related to arson, firearms violations, and property destruction, according to The Daily Caller.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has formally charged three individuals for separate attacks on Tesla properties in Colorado, Illinois, and Oregon. The suspects, who have been identified as transgender or nonbinary, allegedly carried out these actions as part of a larger movement opposing Tesla CEO Elon Musk for supporting Donald Trump’s effort to clean up the federal government.
Colorado: Arson and Vandalism
In Lyons, Colorado, 42-year-old Justin Thomas Nelson, also known as Lucy Grace Nelson, faces charges for the malicious destruction of property. According to the DOJ, Nelson was arrested on February 24 while allegedly in possession of incendiary devices and other materials linked to previous incidents of vandalism. Authorities had been investigating Nelson in connection with multiple February attacks involving arson and graffiti at Tesla facilities.
Nelson, who reportedly lived with his parents due to what his father described as “emotional problems,” made an initial court appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge N. Reid Neureiter. Federal prosecutors from the DOJ’s Violent Crime and Immigration Enforcement Section are handling the case. It remains unclear whether Nelson has secured legal representation.
Illinois: Political Graffiti and Property Damage
In Buffalo Grove, Illinois, 27-year-old Erin L. White was arrested and charged with felony criminal damage to property and trespassing. According to police reports, White allegedly defaced a Tesla service center with messages critical of both former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk while also expressing support for transgender rights.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department stated that the primary damage was caused by paint. White, who identifies with she/they pronouns, was scheduled for a court appearance in Rolling Meadows this week. As with Nelson, it is not yet known whether White has obtained legal counsel.
Oregon: Firebombing and Gunfire
The most severe case in this series of attacks involves 41-year-old Adam Matthew Lansky, who was arrested in Salem, Oregon, for allegedly attempting to destroy a Tesla dealership using Molotov cocktails. Surveillance footage reportedly captured Lansky throwing incendiary devices at the building and several parked vehicles, igniting multiple fires. In a separate incident, authorities claim Lansky fired multiple rounds at a Tesla facility, damaging at least one vehicle.
Lansky, who allegedly used the online alias “Allison Tesla,” appeared in federal court on March 5 and was ordered to remain in custody pending further legal proceedings. The DOJ has emphasized that all charges are allegations until proven in court.
Federal Response and Continued Investigation
Federal agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), are actively investigating these incidents. An ATF spokesperson confirmed that fire investigators have been deployed to assess arson cases involving Tesla properties across the country.
Attorney General Bondi condemned the leftwing violence, warning that those responsible will face “severe consequences.” She also hinted at broader investigations targeting not only the individuals directly involved but also those who may have coordinated or funded these acts. “We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes,” Bondi stated.
The violence has gotten so fierce from the left that Chuck Schumer has begun to fear being attacked by his own side, canceling a recently scheduled book tour out of fear after he supported keeping the government funded earlier in the week.
