A new analysis from Fox News has revealed that Joe Biden’s open border policy has sparked a surge in illegal immigration never seen before to the United States. 7.3 million migrants have illegally come into the country over the southwest border during President Biden’s term.
“That figure comes from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which has already reported 961,537 border encounters in the current fiscal year, which runs from October through September. If the current pace of illegal immigration does not slow down, fiscal year 2024 will break last year’s record of 2,475,669 southwest border encounters — a number that by itself exceeds the population of New Mexico, a border state.

That number includes only those the federal government has interacted with, estimates of the total population are much higher.
The New York Post puts the numbers into context, and it’s shocking.

That is larger than the population of 36 US states, including Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Compared to the largest US states, the 7.3 million number is about 18.7% of California’s population of 39 million, 23.9% of the state of Texas and its 31 million residents, 32.3% of the population of Florida and 37.3% of New York. It’s more than half the size of Pennsylvania, Illinois and Ohio.
Democrats are just keeping their word. Earlier in the month, Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy discussed attempts to close the border as failing to “deliver for the people we care about most, the undocumented Americans that are in this country.”
It’s not a surprise that so many are fleeing their countries in South America and heading to America. Despite claims that their cities are overwhelmed, violence from migrants seemingly being in the news every day, and complaints about Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott, Democrats are paying them to arrive.
New York City recently announced, for example, that it has launched a $53 million “pilot program” that aims to hand out credit cards living in the city’s hotels.
“The program will begin with a group of 500 migrant families in short-term hotel stays and will supply them with the pre-paid cards that can only be used at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores, per the New York Post. The illegal immigrants will be required to sign an affidavit swearing to only spend the money on food and baby supplies, lest they be ousted from the program,” writes The National Review.
“The funds will be doled out based on the size of the family and whether they are bringing in any income, the report says. For example, a family of four could receive nearly $1,000 a month, which works out to almost $35-per-day. The pilot program will replace the city’s current meal program for migrants, which is currently paying about $11 per meal to feed families.”
