Glenn Youngkin wants a secure election. Earlier in the week, the governor issued Executive Order 35, which formally codifies a series of election security measures instituted during his administration. These measures, aimed at ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the state’s electoral process, reflect the Governor’s commitment to safeguarding democracy.
Call me crazy, but I think American elections should be decided by American citizens, and Virginia elections should be decided by Virginians. pic.twitter.com/JMVhqmqB1D

Youngkin underscored the nonpartisan nature of election security, emphasizing its fundamental importance to both Virginian and American democracy. “The Virginia model for Election Security works. This isn’t a Democrat or Republican issue; it’s an American and Virginian issue. Every legal vote deserves to be counted without being diluted by illegal votes or inaccurate machines. In Virginia, we don’t play games, and our model for election security is working,” he asserted.
The order Youngkin signed Wednesday does direct the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles to make and share “a daily file of all non-citizens transactions, including addresses and document numbers” with the state’s Department of Elections, wrote a local ABC affiliate.
People who go to the DMV with documentation that doesn’t prove U.S. citizenship are added to the file, which a DMV spokesperson said was shared monthly before this change. In Virginia, undocumented residents can get a driver privilege card but can’t register to vote.
Youngkin’s order also directs the state’s elections department commissioner to certify in writing each year to the governor that certain procedures are set up, including training local election administrators, and that Virginia’s “system of checks and balances to maintain secure elections is functioning optimally.”
These procedures include measures for ballot security, counting machine testing and certification, and a “Triple-Check” of result accuracy, per the order.
Donald Trump praised Youngkin’s moves.
Key features of Virginia’s election security framework include the exclusive use of 100% paper ballots, which are meticulously tracked through a strict chain of custody. The Governor highlighted that Virginia employs counting machines, not voting machines, which are rigorously tested before each election and are never connected to the internet, thereby mitigating the risk of cyber interference. Furthermore, the state refrains from mass mailing ballots and enforces continuous 24/7 monitoring of drop boxes to enhance the security of the voting process.

Every “red” state needs to join Gov. Youngkin and demand elections return to the format that had been working just fine until about 20 years ago when the demonRATS decided to make cheating in our elections their agenda. Motor voter needs to be abolished. Paper ballots need to be demanded. No election machines. No mail-in ballots except for members of the military and extremely restricted and monitored absentee ballots only sent to people previously vetted to receive them. No ballot drop boxes. Voting periods for in-person voting restricted to one day as officially codified in the Constitution. In-person voters will be marked with a indelible ink mark that lasts for at least one week as is done all over the globe. Picture ID must be presented at in-person voting. Military and absentee voters must present picture ID’s when registering for absentee ballots.
