Pelosi Thinks Trump Won’t Debate

Fresh off of taking away the nomination from Joe Biden and installing Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi made a bold prediction.

She thinks Donald Trump will not show up to the debate on Tuesday, writes The Washington Examiner.

During an interview at the Texas Tribune Festival (TribFest), the leader of the Democratic Party was asked what advice she might offer Trump regarding the debate. Pelosi, known for her sharp wit, responded with a hint of sarcasm, joking about her “close” relationship with Trump.

“Do you think he’s gonna show up?” Pelosi asked, raising questions about the former president’s commitment to the event.

When pressed further about whether she had inside information, Pelosi quipped, “I know cowardice when I see it,” a pointed remark likely aimed at Trump’s history of avoiding situations he deems unfavorable.

Pelosi and Trump have long maintained a tumultuous relationship since his presidency began in 2017, with the former Speaker often acting as a formidable adversary.

Trump has not indicated any plans to skip the debate, which ABC News will host on September 10, though he hasn’t been shy about criticizing the network for perceived bias.

Last week, Trump’s campaign team refused to modify the debate rules. Harris had demanded a change to the rule on muted microphones, hoping to interrupt Trump during his time while then playing victim and having an “I’m speaking” moment against Trump when he did the same.

According to insiders, not receiving special treatment has thrown Harris for a loop.
