Norwegian Fuel Supplier Threatens American Navy

Norwegian fuel supplier Haltbakk Bunkers has announced an immediate suspension of fuel sales to all American military forces operating in Norway, a decision that underscores transatlantic tensions over U.S. policy toward Ukraine. The move, publicly declared via social media, follows a controversial White House meeting between former President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which the company described as a “backstabbing TV show.”

Expressing dissatisfaction with Trump’s handling of the meeting, the company issued a blunt statement:

“We have today been witnesses to the biggest shitshow ever presented “live on tv” by the current American president and his vice president.

Huge credit to the president of Ukraine restraining himself and for keeping calm even though USA put on a backstabbing tv show. It made us sick. Short and sweet. As a result, we have decided to immediate STOP as fuel provider to American forces in Norway and their ships calling Norwegian ports.

“As a privately owned company, we have the right to choose our customers,” Gran told the Norwegian maritime news outlet Kystens Næringsliv. He explained that the company had previously refused to supply fuel to Russian vessels in response to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and was now applying a similar standard to the United States based on its treatment of Zelensky.

The announcement comes amid growing uncertainty about Washington’s commitment to supporting Kyiv. Zelensky had traveled to Washington hoping to secure a minerals agreement with the U.S., but the meeting ended without a deal. The exchange reportedly escalated, with Trump accusing the Ukrainian leader of endangering global stability. “You’re gambling with millions of people … You’re gambling with World War Three,” Trump allegedly told Zelensky.

The tense encounter has raised concerns among Ukraine’s allies, while Moscow has welcomed what it sees as a sign of weakened U.S.-Ukrainian relations. Despite the heated discussion, Zelensky sought to maintain a diplomatic stance, expressing gratitude to the American people and optimism for future cooperation.

Haltbakk Bunkers has been a key supplier of marine fuel along the Norwegian coast, providing refueling services to a wide range of vessels, including commercial ships, fishing fleets, and military vessels such as those of the U.S. Navy. Its fleet of bunker tankers has enabled seamless at-sea and port-side refueling, ensuring operational continuity for naval deployments in the region.

  1. We probably don’t import much from Norway but we should stop whatever it is. How much has Norway provided to Ukraine ?? They don’t spend much for their own defense because NaATO and the U.S. provide protection for them from Russia.

  2. Just stop all foreign aid, PERIOD. I don’t hear of or see any other country sending the US any aid. We have already spent the country into oblivion with all this free money giveaway.
