At the end of the day, you can just call it what it was: legal money laundering of taxpayer money. A senior Justice Department official who signed off on a $2 million settlement to former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page is now working for a progressive legal advocacy group chaired by Democratic election attorney Marc Elias, according to new reporting by The Daily Caller.
“Through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by the Center to Advance Security in America in 2024, it was revealed the DOJ’s former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Federal Programs Branch, Brian Netter, was responsible for approving the settlement agreements,” The Federalist reported Friday.
Netter served in the Justice Department under Attorney General Merrick Garland before joining Democracy Forward, where he now serves as Legal Director. The group describes itself as a “national legal organization that advances democracy and social progress through litigation, policy and public education, and regulatory engagement.” Its website adds that those “responsible for January 6th have returned to power.”
The $2 million settlement—$1.2 million for Strzok and $800,000 for Page, according to New Conservative Post—stemmed from their claims that the 2017 leaking of their private texts from government-issued devices violated their privacy.
Strzok and Page’s messages became central to allegations of political bias in the FBI’s 2016 Trump-Russia investigation. In one widely circulated exchange, Strzok told Page: “I want to believe the path you threw out in [former FBI Deputy Director Andy McCabe’s] office—that there’s no way he gets elected—but I’m afraid we can’t take the risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40,” as reported by Fox News.
Page later clarified in 2019 congressional testimony that the message referred to the belief that although they didn’t expect Trump to win the election, the investigation should move forward.
The disclosure of the texts came after the opening of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation and during the same time frame as what was shown in Thursday’s release of the Durham annex, which reportedly revealed the FBI ignored information suggesting Hillary Clinton’s campaign planned to falsely link Trump to Russia as a campaign smear.
The latest revelations have been called a “smoking gun” that proves that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama weaponized the FBI and other federal agencies to undermine President Trump as he entered the White House following his stunning victory in 2016.

Good to know. So when the SHTF and Strozk needs to be brought in for questioning law enforcement will know where he can be found. Strozk and Page were the ones discussing via emails the “insurance plan” they had to keep Trump from becoming president the first time.
Lets see if he will still be smiling.
Now when can we Prosecute him then
