Tatiana Kennedy Schlossberg, Granddaughter of JFK, Dies at 35

Tatiana Celia Kennedy Schlossberg, a member of one of America’s most storied political families and the granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, died on December 30, 2025. She was 35.

Schlossberg was the middle child of Caroline Kennedy, the only surviving child of JFK and Jackie, and Edwin Schlossberg, an artist and founder of an interactive design firm. Caroline, a former U.S. ambassador to Japan and Australia, married Schlossberg in 1986. The couple raised their three children primarily in New York City, with summers often spent at the Kennedy family estate on Martha’s Vineyard, according to reports.

She is the cousin of the current Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Tatiana grew up alongside two siblings. Her older sister, Rose Kennedy Schlossberg, born in 1988, is a filmmaker and artist known for video installations and documentary work and married restaurateur Rory McAuliffe in 2022. Her younger brother, John “Jack” Bouvier Kennedy Schlossberg, born in 1993, is a political commentator and controversial congressional candidate in New York.

The siblings were raised with a mix of religious traditions, drawing on Catholic influences from their mother’s side and Jewish heritage from their father’s Orthodox Ashkenazi background. While they were largely raised Catholic, the family also incorporated Jewish traditions such as Hanukkah celebrations.

In her personal life, Tatiana married George Winchester Moran, a physician and urologist, on September 9, 2017, in a ceremony held at the Kennedy family estate on Martha’s Vineyard. The couple met as undergraduates at Yale University. Tatiana studied history and later earned a master’s degree in American history from the University of Oxford.

They had two children together: a son, Edwin Garrett Moran, born in 2022 and named in part after both grandfathers, and a daughter, Josephine, born in May 2024—shortly before Tatiana was diagnosed with leukemia.

“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts,” the family said in a statement posted on social media by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

During her final months, Tatiana credited her extended family, including her parents and siblings, with providing critical support, particularly in helping care for her young children while she underwent treatment.

She is survived by her husband, George Moran; their children, Edwin and Josephine; her parents, Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg; her siblings, Rose and Jack; and other extended members of the Kennedy family.
