With time running out on their social project, the staff running the White House is doing everything they can to “burrow” leftists inside the federal government. As Donald Trump’s inauguration draw closer, federal agencies are racing to fill hundreds of high-paying Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) positions and some have annual salaries exceeding $300,000.
The appointments could collectively cost taxpayers up to $160 million per year in salary expenditures alone, according to The Daily Wire.
In the weeks following the election in November, at least 33 DEI-related job postings appeared across multiple federal agencies, with many application windows set to close before the next administration could assume office. These roles span key sectors, including health, finance, homeland security, and defense, and are prominently featured on the federal employment portal, USAJobs.gov.
One notable example comes from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which is seeking a Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health. This position offers a salary of up to $221,900 annually and carries responsibilities such as advancing health equity initiatives and ensuring alignment with workforce diversity goals. Applications for this role closed in late November, with hiring currently underway.
Similarly, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is actively recruiting two senior DEI directors, each earning up to $310,000 annually. These directors will oversee strategic DEI planning and ensure compliance with diversity policies throughout the agency, which has been considered for elimination by Trump advisers.
At the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), applications are under review for a Supplier Diversity Officer, a position offering up to $251,258 per year. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking candidates for a Deputy Director of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity.
Other prominent agencies, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Pentagon’s Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), are also pursuing talent for roles focused on DEI strategy, workforce training, and internal communications.
Critics view this accelerated hiring as an attempt by the Biden administration to cement DEI priorities within federal agencies, potentially complicating efforts by a new administration to reform how federal bureaucrats operate.
