California Attorney General Rob Bonta is investigating a private plane full of immigrants flown to Sacramento while a sheriff’s office in Texas filed a criminal case over those flown to Martha’s Vineyard by Florida Governor – and 2024 presidential candidate – Ron DeSantis.
Bonta said Sacramento had received two private planes full of immigrants that he suspects are part of a “scheme” by DeSantis to relocate immigrants against their will to Democrat-led cities as a political power play.
“Today I met with over a dozen migrants who were brought to Sacramento by private plane, with no prior arrangement or care in place,” Bonta said in a statement. “We are investigating the circumstances by which these individuals were brought to California.”
“While we continue to collect evidence, I want to say this very clearly: State-sanctioned kidnapping is not a public policy choice, it is immoral and disgusting.”
Eddie Carmona, campaign director at a faith-based organization in the state, said the immigrants appeared to have no idea where they were transported to and that he believes they were “lied to and intentionally deceived” into getting on the plane.
Bonta’s office followed up, saying, “As was the case with the migrants who arrived on Friday, the migrants who arrived today carried documents indicating that their transportation to California involved the State of Florida.”
Texas County Recommends Criminal Charges
In a similar incident which DeSantis has taken credit for, 49 immigrants were flown out of Texas into Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, an area known for its rich and famous residents.
“The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has officially filed a completed criminal case with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office regarding the incident from September 2022 where 49 migrants were flown to Martha’s Vineyard,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The charge filed is Unlawful Restraint and several accounts were filed, both misdemeanor and felony. At this time, the case is being reviewed by the DA’s office.”
Florida’s legislature has given DeSantis $22 million dollars in funding to pay for immigrant flights to sanctuary cities.
His office has not commented on either incident or the criminal case.
Is Bexar County, Texas, where the far Left city of Austin is located?
Bexar County is San Antonio. If this story is correct, and I assume it is it is not representative of how the vast majority of Texans think. A liberal is a liberal regardless of where he calls home.

They / the ILLEGALS left their country not knowing where they would wind up ILLEGALY > so this whinning from where they were sent is supposed to be a santuary for them . It shows the arrogance these places have towards recieving them as they really aren’t sanctuary cities and they forfeit their right to say anything .
Javier (and us residents of Bexar County) would be far better off expending efforts to track down all of the criminals involved in the deaths of 53 illegals left in a sealed trailer than pursuing (at best) frivolous ‘charges’ against the Florida governor. Never mind that the persecutor oops prostituter er um prosecutor in our county (elected with sore ohs money) will gladly go along with this. After all, he has lots of time on his hands since he is on record that he will NOT pursue charges for what he deems ‘low level crimes’.
What about the Democrat Mayor of El Paso who shipped more people out than Abbott or DeSantis? Same rules for everyone? I don’t think so!!!
so…let me get this straight…the illegal immigrants are taken to states with no prior plans or permission from the state, but California and Martha’s Vineyard are exempt from such practices? seriously??
We legally and formally don’t have open borders even though the Biden administration has failed in securing the safety and enforcement of such barriers resulting in the increased flow of illegal crossings while those who have applied for legal entry and are following the laws of the land patiently wait for their documents and access.
