Boston police opened a death investigation Saturday after officers discovered a deceased person at a Mattapan rental property owned by the husband of Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley.
Officers responded to the Malta Street residence at approximately 1:52 p.m. following a call to investigate a person, according to Boston police spokesperson James Moccia, according to CBS News. Police found the individual dead after arriving at the property.
The department’s homicide unit is handling the investigation. Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased or disclosed how the person died. Police have also not said whether investigators suspect foul play.
A dead body was found at a $1.15 million home owned by Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley's husband.
Pressley's husband, Conan Harris, 49, purchased the multi-family property for $340,000 in 2021. He and Pressley, 52, do not live at the residence.

A Boston police officer remained outside the two-story house Saturday evening, while red crime scene tape surrounded portions of the property.
City records identify Pressley’s husband, Conan Harris, as the owner of the home. The seven-bedroom house was constructed in 1910 and has an assessed value of approximately $919,000. Pressley and Harris do not live at the residence, which is operated as a rental property and was recently listed for sale for $1.15 million.
A real estate agent handling the sale told The Boston Globe that the property had been placed on the market in June and that its current tenants had lived there for some time. No information has been released connecting Pressley, Harris or their family to the circumstances surrounding the death.
“The Congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family,” a spokesperson for Pressley said in a statement Saturday night.
Pressley has represented Massachusetts’ heavily Democratic 7th Congressional District since 2019. The former Boston city councilor secured the seat in 2018 after defeating 10-term incumbent Rep. Michael Capuano in the Democratic primary, an upset that helped establish Pressley as a prominent figure in the party’s progressive wing. She later became the first Black woman elected to Congress from Massachusetts.
The investigation remains active, and Boston police have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects.
