With Joe Biden officially dropping out of the presidency, some Democrats have called for an “open process” in choosing the party’s replacement nominee.
That’s not sitting well with Kamala Harris supporters. They believe she should be handed the top spot without working for it, or even getting votes.
The Daily Caller writes that liberal political strategists are already warning others against challenging Harris for the nomination.
A Democratic strategist warned Democrats that passing over Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden dropped his reelection bid would be “a surefire way” for former President Donald Trump to win another term as president.
Biden announced Sunday he was ending his reelection bid in a letter released on social media Sunday, following calls from Democrats to withdraw following a disastrous performance against Trump during a June 27 debate on CNN. Cornell Belcher said on MSNBC that Democrats should not disregard the will of voters.
“I will be really straightforward: If the Democrats want to give the White House back to Donald Trump, let them go into a nomination process, open nomination process and disrespect and step over the first black woman vice president in this country,” Belcher said. “They will be committing absolute suicide. Absolute suicide. That is the surefire way for Donald Trump to become president again.”
Biden quickly endorsed Harris after announcing his withdrawal from seeking the Democratic nomination. There were 4,000 delegates pledged to vote for Biden at the Democratic National Committee convention next month, but with his withdrawal from the race the party delegates will have to select a different nominee to face Trump and vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance in November.
One person, according to reports, who does not hold confidence in the ability of Harris to win the presidency is Joe Biden. Axios writes that “President Biden hesitated to drop his re-election campaign in part because he and his senior advisers worried that Vice President Kamala Harris wasn’t up to taking on Donald Trump, according to three Biden aides familiar with recent talks about his plans.
Biden, 81, ultimately decided to withdraw under pressure from the party and endorsed Harris, but his private anxieties reflect broader questions among some Democratic leaders about Harris as their nominee this November.
Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton and many Democratic lawmakers quickly endorsed Harris, but others — including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former President Barack Obama — did not immediately do so.”
Harris currently trails Donald Trump in polling, but does about percent better against the former president.

IMHO kamalala is the ‘perfect’ example of dei as in didn’t earn it. One example, she hasn’t done a single positive thing as the ‘border czar’ – it is possibly even more open than when the current regime was appointed er um was ‘duly elected’ – they got 81 million votes after all, or did they? We will likely never know for sure since the ‘supremes’ (or was it just roberts?) refused any of the law suits challenging the results to even be considered – the old ‘lack of standing’ cop out.
Where is Bernie? Where is Pocahontas Warren? Obviously the Democrat overlords(Soros, Clinton, Obama) have instructed them not to challenge Harris. Same with Manchin.
Something to hide Dems??
