Hillary Says If Trump Gets Ukraine Peace She’ll Nominate Him For Nobel

In a political twist few saw coming, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has suggested she would nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize — if he can strike a Ukraine peace deal with Vladimir Putin that leaves Kyiv’s borders intact.

The remarks came during an appearance on the Raging Moderates podcast, where Clinton said she would “absolutely” back the award should Trump deliver a settlement without territorial concessions to Moscow. Her comments, reported by outlets including Raw Story and The Hill, set the stage for a headline-grabbing subplot to today’s high-stakes Trump-Putin summit in Anchorage.

On Fox News, anchor Bret Baier played the clip for Trump, prompting a quip from Air Force One that quickly made the social media rounds: “I may have to start liking her again.” The exchange — at once tongue-in-cheek and politically charged — underscored the unusual nature of the moment. Clinton has spent years lambasting Trump as “dangerously incoherent” and an “illegitimate president,” while Trump has long coveted the Nobel, often contrasting his record with Barack Obama’s 2009 win.

The Anchorage meeting marked Trump’s most direct push yet to end the conflict since returning to office, following his self-imposed 50-day deadline for a ceasefire — a timeline he has since relaxed amid frustrations with Putin’s unwillingness to budge. The Biden administration, by contrast, had held fast to an unconditional defense of Ukraine’s territorial claims, deepening the diplomatic contrast.

International media converged on Alaska’s largest city, where normally quiet streets are now lined with security barricades, broadcast trucks, and foreign correspondents. Whether the summit produces real movement toward ending the war remains uncertain, but the stakes are clear: a breakthrough could alter the course of the conflict — and, if Clinton’s surprising offer holds, place Trump’s name in contention for one of diplomacy’s most coveted honors.

Putin did admit during a discussion with the media that he would never have invaded Ukraine had Trump been president in 2022.
